Schedules: automatic restarts and backups

A backup every night, a restart every morning or an announcement in chat, without you being online.

A schedule decides when something happens; its tasks decide what happens. A task can send a command, start, stop or restart the server, or create a backup.

  1. Open your server in the Panel, click Schedules under Management on the left, then Create schedule.
  2. Enter a name, for example Nightly restart.
  3. Set the time: Minute 0 and Hour 5 means every day at 5:00. Day of month, Month and Day of week stay at * (every). Show cheatsheet lists more examples.
  4. Leave Schedule enabled on. With Only when server is online it only runs while the server is running.
  5. Click Create schedule, then open it with a click.
  6. Click New task, choose for example Send power action under Action and then Restart, and confirm with Create task.

Examples

  1. Announce the restart: first task Send command with say Restart in 1 minute, second task the restart with a time offset of 60 seconds.
  2. Backup every night: Minute 30, Hour 4, task Create backup. More in the Backups guide.
  3. Sundays only: enter 0 under Day of week.

Times are German time. Run now tests a schedule immediately without waiting for the time.
