Crashes and automatic restart
We notice when your server crashes, restart it and tell you, with the last lines from the log.
Every server is checked every minute. A crash is when it goes down or starts over without anyone starting, stopping or typing stop in the console.
- After a crash the server restarts right away.
- If it crashes several times in a row, we restart it at most once every half hour so it doesn't get stuck in a loop.
- You get an email and, if Discord is linked, a message. At most one every half hour.
- If a server hangs while stopping, we end it after 3 minutes.
Viewing crashes
In the customer area under Subscriptions, your server's Crashes box lists every case of the last 90 days. Last lines from the log shows what happened just before; that's usually where the cause is, such as a mod or too little memory.
If you'd rather check yourself after a crash, turn off Restart automatically after a crash there. If a server doesn't start at all, it stays off; the cause is then in the console.
