Terraria is most fun with friends. With your own server the world is always there, including for Calamity and other mods.

Vanilla or tModLoader?

For the normal game, pick a Terraria server. For mods like Calamity or Thorium you need tModLoader, which is a separate plan with us (“Terraria with Mods”). All players then need tModLoader and the same mods.

How much RAM?

  • Vanilla: 2 GB for a small world with friends, 4 GB for a large world with up to about 16 players.
  • With mods: 4 GB for a few small mods, 6 GB and more for big mods like Calamity.

Step by step at Navoryx

  1. Order a Terraria or Terraria with Mods server.
  2. Before the first start, set up the world: in the Panel under Startup, the variables World Name, World Size (1 small, 2 medium, 3 large) and Difficulty.
  3. Start the server. The world is generated on the first start, which takes one to two minutes.
  4. In Terraria: Multiplayer → Join via IP, pick a character, enter IP and port.

Protect the server with the Password variable so only your friends get in.
